Playing Games All Day Long

As much fun as it is to goof on videos, I can’t do it all day long.  However, I do find it fun to run some of these crazy videos intermittently in the background when I have friends or family over for a game of cards or even a little poker tournament.  Shanghai Rummy and Texas Hold ‘em are probably my two favorite games in that area.

When I can’t get a real game of cards going, I usually play online poker through Pokerstars.  Its easier than ever to learn how to play Hold ‘em by reading up on it through Poker.com or chatting with other players in their poker forum.  However, there’s no substitute for actually playing.

Playing online gives you a rapid immersion course into playing poker.  You can start out with fake money and if you are really brave move into pennies and nickels and go from there.  I’ve even taken a couple classes in Vegas, which is a good place to learn table etiquette and see just how much your online lessons have paid off, but don’t play in the classes too long as there are a number of people that play in the classes that do not need any classes.  They just show up to scoop up pots from novices.
