He was just there with my wife to pick up our baby. He didn’t know the daycare rules let alone the laws regarding HIV and Air Rasberries. He was tazed, handcuffed and booked that night. With the new federally approved fast track juvenile defender program, he was convicted 3 weeks later and sentenced a week after that (He was eligible to have 2 years shaved off his sentence as he was the valedictorian of his grade school and junior high and was on an educational track that would have seen him graduate from high school 2 years early, plus he had won the key to the city a year earlier for saving the life of the Mayor’s elderly mother, who had been trapped in her car after driving through a candy store while on too much medication. She killed 3 people in the accident but got wedged in the car, which started to catch fire and our son, who I think is a hero, was able to lift a steel beam off of the car and pull her from the vehicle before it blew up and killed 2 other bystanders. No one to this day knows how he found the strength to do that.
